Celebrating“NATIONAL TRADERS DAY”ON 9th AUGUST A press meet was held today in Chandigarh by Chandigarh Beopar Mandal to highlight the upcoming celebrations of NATIONAL TRADER DAY in New Delhi by Bhartya Udyog Veopar Mandal New Delhi on 9th August 2015 being 35th foundation day of Bhartya Udog Veopar Mandal The day is being celebrated as NATIONAL TRADER DAY where in more than 1500 Trader delegates representing 26 states of India shall participate at Constitution Club Parliament Street New Delhi the slogan of the day shall be “ RESPECT OF TRADER AND TRADE WITHOUT FEAR “ Celebrations shall be presided by Sh Shyam Bihari Mishra President BUVM and Sh Rajnath Singh Hon’ble Home Minister of India shall be the Chief Guest
Sh. Balkrishan Aggarwal Senior Vice President Bhartya Udyog Beopar Mandal who is also convener of the Trader Day celebrations explained about the need to celebrate such Trader Day and the trade issues on which Govt must take necessary steps
Diwakar Sahoonja Chief Patron CBM while introducing the eminent leader who have been a trader activist from his college days said that not only entire nation but particularly traders of Chandigarh shall benefit from such celebrations especially the small and medium traders
The important national Trader issues highlighted by the visiting leader are as per below
1.A National Trader Welfare Policy be adopted to ensure due respect of traders and trade without fear The trader must be made part of every Policy making Process about trade at all levels with due representation to trader representatives in all such policy making bodies
2.Trader being essential segment of our economy being a facilitator between consumer and producer should not be harassed by the official machinery or suffer due to wrong policies& procedures but his hands must be strengthened by supporting his working and existence
3.While imposing G.S.T.maximum vat rates should not be more than 12 % as we feel lesser the rates more is the revenue collection All essential commodities should be in the Exempted category only
4.There should be single window of clearances and all kinds of registrations and online payment of direct and indirect taxes rather than too many departments dealing with traders
5.All procedures in laws related to traders must be simplified to end the Inspector raj and exploitation of the traders
6.Every buyer should be made responsible for receiving and keeping due bill of all his purchases rather than putting entire responsibility on the selling trader
7.Trader welfare policies like social security out of the taxes paid in his life time, subsidized insurance for loss of property and lives and a Trader Welfare Board in each state shall put more confidence in the traders to contribute more to the progress of the nation
8.Multi brand FDI should not be permitted since it shall endanger the existence of small and medium traders
Two important regional issues related to Chandigarh shall also be taken up namely:
- Amendment of obsolete building byelaws considering modern day needs and requirements especially freedom to do general trade in every part of commercial building and abolishing unjust 50 times increase in monthly penalty which has accumulated to more than the value of the commercial buildings in many cases
- Making all commercial buildings from lease hold to freehold
Sh Charn Jiv Singh President Chandigarh Beopar Mandal while thanking the visiting dignitary and media personals said that the Trader Day shall be celebrated every year at national level for greater unity amongst traders and to highlight and sorting of important trader issues.
